Soy milk is derived from soy which contains a moderate amount of purines. These purines are broken down into uric acid by your body. Many people consume soy milk due to it’s many nutritional benefits, however, Gout patients need to watch their intake of soy. By consuming soy milk in excessive amounts, your body could be flushed with too much uric acid triggering a Gout attack.
Although there have not been any large scale studies that have been conducted on this matter, many people have reported that drinking soy milk has caused an attack.
